Our Beliefs
Our Purpose
We believe that life finds its deepest meaning in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ in sacred worship, in spiritual growth within a Christian community, and in engagement in authentic Christian mission.
At the heart of Germantown United Methodist Church are three purposes: Reaching, Becoming, and Serving
In these three ways we are transformed and are involved in the transformation of the world:
We Seek to Reach Persons With the Good News of Jesus Christ. We know the power of Christ’s love to transform lives. We long to help those who feel unblessed to know the blessing of Christ’s unconditional love and to help those of who are abundantly blessed to give their hearts, their time, their gifts, and resources to the great purposes of Christ in the world.
We Seek to Become Devoted Followers of Christ. Jesus said, “Come, and follow me.” With these words he called people into a community of learning, spiritual growth, and engagement with God and others. Following Christ is a lifelong journey.
We Seek to Serve Others in the Name of Christ by Healing Hurts and Meeting Needs. Through acts of service we seek to participate in Christ’s transformation of the world.
